Adobo Mix
Adobo Mix
A blend of tasty chilies and spices come together to create this flavorful Adobo mix. Adobo, a zesty red chili marinade sauce, is commonly used to enhance the flavor of pork or chicken. Think of it as a simpler, spicier version of mole. It's a popular dish in Mexico, often served during special celebrations alongside rice and beans.
Here's how to cook it: For 2-4lbs of pork or chicken, start by adding 1/3 cup of water, a couple of bay leaves, and just a pinch of salt (since the mix already contains salt). Cook everything over medium heat until the water evaporates. The meat will then begin to fry in its own juices. Once it's frying nicely, add the Adobo mix along with 2 cups of water. Stir until the seasoning is completely dissolved. Let it simmer gently over low heat until the sauce reaches your desired thickness. Then, dig in and enjoy!
